TRACKLISTING
Rubber Lover
A quirky side project from members of Biffy Clyro and Sucioperro, Marmaduke Duke are perhaps Scotland's answer to The Postal Service; another musical duo moonlighting from their more established alt-rocking day jobs to dabble in frothier sounding electro-pop.
Latest single RUBBER LOVER is lifted from their upcoming DUKE PANDEMONIUM release and sees the duo continuing the move toward infectious synth pop. This time round, Marmaduke Duke conjure up a sound that takes its cues from bands as diverse as the Scissor Sisters, Supertramp and Heaven 17; synth stings, piano stabs, rumbling bass throbs and a dancefloor beat injecting RUBBER LOVER with a feel good groove where seventies disco meets mid eighties new wave. Biffy Clyro mainman Simon Neil aka The Atmosphere lends his distinctive vocals to the song, his strong Scottish accent injecting matters with personality all of his own.
Another superb sounding missive from Marmaduke Duke, RUBBER LOVER is another example of smart and savvy new wave pop from this duo.
